Pass DBE As Function Parameter

I am learning DXL and came up with this function.

DBE aButton ( DB aGUI, void buttonCallBack(DBE x) )
{
  DBE theGUI = button(aGUI,"no title on button",buttonCallBack)
  return theGUI
}

The DXL interpreter responds with
-W- DXL: <Line:1> function parameter has named parameter (84278304)
-I- DXL: all done with 0 errors and 1 warning

Is it possible to do what I am attempting to do?

Thanks for any input

Get rid of "x". You are describing the function with a DBE parameter. The notion of a "variable" only applies when you are defining or invoking it.
  • DBE aButton ( DB aGUI, void buttonCallBack(DBE) )
This is similar to a "forward declare" which likewise has no variables:
  • void buttonCallBack(DBE)
